About Me

I am Heather. I used to suffer with anxiety, panic attacks, negative thinking and had a low self-esteem. It started when I was about 17 and continued for years as I had no idea how to get help or help myself. My GP told me to blow in a brown paper bag to help slow my breathing down and that was all the support I got. I ignored the problem, it got worse, I felt rubbish all of the time and was not very happy.

And then I discovered holistic therapy which changed my life. I started by having regular Foot Reflexology and Massage sessions. I then discovered meditation. I developed an interest in Reiki and became attuned, which meant I could do hands-on healing to myself. And I read a lot of self-help and spiritual books.

I believe now, this was all part of my journey. My journey of having to go through the suffering of anxiety and seek out ways to help myself heal.  So that one day I could help others and show them ways to deal with things like anxiety, depression and other mental health problems.

I honestly can say that holistic therapy can help ease the pain of anxiety and other mind-related problems. I'm not saying that these therapies will save you. Because ultimately you are not broken. You are whole and complete and perfect as you are but there may be areas of your life that you would like to feel better in. You may like to sleep better, feel a bit more confident about yourself, feel less stressed, be able to switch off your busy mind. Relax more.

I still do these things every day and see them as part of my life, which is why I am so passionate about holistic therapy. I have regular Massage and Foot Reflexology. I meditate every day. I eat a healthy vegan diet. I now have no alcohol in my life. I learn to listen to my body and slow down when I need to. I create positive thoughts in my life and know that we can manifest anything in our lives with the power of the mind.

And this is not just for children and teens with anxiety. It is for ALL children and teens. Because I truly believe that if I did some of these things that I am doing now at an earlier age, I may not have got anxiety. The key is to start young. To listen to your body. To be aware of your thoughts. And to know that you do have control over all of it. By relaxing and slowing down, you can find an inner peace that is within us all and when you feel this, miracles can happen.

Life is not just about looking after our body with good diet and exercise (even though this is also super important for health and wellbeing). We have a mind that we need to take care of. We have emotions that we need to feel. We have a thing called our spiritual path that would really benefit us, if we kind of knew what that was about (and it's nothing to do with religion) because that can help us stay on the right path. Believe it or not, all these things are linked. The mind, the body, the soul. They all affect one another so we need to look after all of it. And this is what HOLISTIC means. Holistic means WHOLE. The whole of you.

I didn't think it was possible for me to ever feel ok in any part of me, let alone the whole of me. I no longer suffer with anxiety and I am the happiest I have ever been. And this is why I have made it my life's purpose to share this wisdom, to use the healing power of touch (which is in a lot of my work) and to offer guidance on stuff that is not taught in schools, so others can feel the kind of happiness I now feel every single day.

My aim is to show you how to nurture and love your body, mind and soul and to be just who you are meant to be, on this wonderful journey of life. I have a toolbox of different methods to help you such as:

  • Massage
  • Foot Reflexology
  • Facial Reflexology
  • Reiki
  • Tapping
  • Guided Meditation
  • Mindfulness
  • Visualisation
  • Breathing Techniques
  • Positive Affirmations
  • The Law of Attraction
  • Bach Remedies

All of this is natural. Some of it, I will treat you with, hands-on or hands-off. Some of it, I will guide you with, and you can use at home, school or wherever you feel stressed, anxious or fearful.

Random stuff about me…

I have been a holistic therapist for 13 years and I absolutely love my job.

My house is normally quite noisy with 3 children, a husband and a cat.

So, I love to escape to forests, beaches, lakes, rivers and anywhere quiet.

I love camping in the countryside. But I also love the city.

I love exploring new cities with my husband, Scott. I love clothes shopping with my daughter, Saffron. I love watching random kids' films with my youngest son, Lawson. And I love taking my eldest son, Jude out for pizza.

My other business is called Sanctuary Home Healing where I do holistic therapy for women.

I have worked with all kinds of people doing holistic stuff. With the elderly, in a dementia care home. With the staff of Portsmouth City Council. With Mums and their adopted daughters at Portsmouth Adoption Services. With vulnerable people with mental health problems at St James Hospital. And with my own clients, mostly women and some children.

I have done some training in Counselling so I am a good listener and I like listening to people's problems. I love being able to help.

I love meditation, buddhas, vegan food. I am a bit of a hippy at heart but I don't look like one! And I wasn't always this way. I used to be a party animal in London when I was in my twenties. I much prefer how I am now!

I am C.R.B checked and fully insured to work with children. Here's a list of my professional qualifications:
